Domain parking refers to a registered domain that is not connected to a real website or email service. Registrars typically show a default “parked” placeholder page for new domains.
Investors often use parking services that display pay-per-click ads or a “this domain is for sale” landing page, earning revenue from type-in traffic or attracting buyers.
Parking is common and legitimate, but parked pages that show ads related to someone else’s trademark can be used as evidence of bad faith in a UDRP dispute. If you are simply holding a name for a future project, a simple “coming soon” page is a clean option.
