Searches
Domain lookups are sent directly from your browser to public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers (Cloudflare, Google) and to domain registries' RDAP servers. DomainFinch does not receive or store the names you search.
Data stored on your device
Your shortlist, watchlist and recent searches are saved in your browser's local storage. Clear them any time from My Names or your browser settings.
Anonymous usage statistics
To improve the site we count anonymous usage on our own server: pages viewed, which tools are used, the extension (not the name) of domains checked, clicks to partner registrars, page speed and errors. We do not use cookies for this, do not store IP addresses, and never record what you type into search boxes or which domain names you look up. Visitors are counted with a one-way hash that changes every day, so you cannot be followed across days. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, you are not counted at all. Data is deleted automatically after about 13 months.
Analytics and ads
We may also use privacy-friendly analytics to count page views. If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Where required, we ask for consent first.
Affiliate links
Registrar and partner links may include referral codes. The partner may set cookies to attribute a purchase.
