What does this check?
Quick answerIt looks at the public settings (called DNS records) of your domain: does it point to a website, does the website open securely with HTTPS, can it receive email, and is it protected so others cannot send fake email in your name.
What the words mean
- A record: tells the internet where your website lives.
- HTTPS: the lock in the browser bar. It keeps visitors safe.
- MX record: tells the internet where your email goes.
- SPF and DMARC: stop scammers from sending email that looks like it came from you.
